Forest Meditation &
Takigyo Waterfall Meditation
白瀧 瞑想&滝行体験
Along the river leading to the Shirataki Daimyojin waterfall lies a sacred spot known as Gyōja Ōiwa (“Great Practitioners’ Rock”), where ascetics once meditated and prayed atop a large boulder. Within the forest of Shirataki—revered as a sacred body in its entirety—you will take part in meditation and waterfall purification under the guidance of a retreat coordinator.
Through meditation, you turn your awareness inward, calmly observing your thoughts and emotions from a broader perspective. This quiet introspection is said to lead to new insights. Once unnecessary thoughts and emotions have surfaced, you will wash them away through the purifying practice of waterfall training, allowing you to discover a renewed version of yourself.
